Youmacon 2009 was the best ever. The amazing people I went with were S, A, Leanna, and Morgan. Firstly, I cosplayed as Mello from Death Note. We had only a half day of school,so I just dressed up for school too with the rest of the anime club. I got interesting comments (one teacher thought I was a 'biker momma'. yeah. Poor Mells.
Anyway, so we all hopped in S' stalker van. S was Christy from Dramacon, A was Beyond Birthday (if you know what I mean XD ), Morgan was Karin from Chibi Vampire, and Leanna was her good ole self. We stopped briefly at S' house to apply a scar to meh face and for em to dress up some. then we drove there, waited in line for over an hour, and got in (finally). PREREGISTER!!!!
There were so many amazing cosplayers there. We got food and wandered around. Then mello saw an L cosplayer from behind, and wanted a picture. So he followed the cosplayer throughout the hotel creepily, being totally obvious. Apparently, I looked hilarious. XD Then We got his picture. Later on, exciting things happened to my midriff, but I'm saving that for those who know me personally MY MIDRIFF IS SHOWING!! Let's GO!
We rode the glass elevators up to the... fourteenth floor? Twelfth? Anyway, it was really high up, but a beautiful view!
Visiting the Artist's alley was really neat. I purchased a purple and black hat with bear ears on it; I'll upload pictures I took after I edit them (they turned out a little dark). Me, BB, and Karin went and sat down with our new friend, Ryuk, and ate chocolate with relish (not the condiment). It's never tasted sweeter. The maid cafe was open to us common folk, so we sat and ate delicious cake (CHOCOLAAAAATTEE!) with some random guys. Then, team fourstar came over and talked with us and signed our booklets. Christy (S) totally freaked out XD She's so funny.
Me, BB, and Karin went to the bathroom so I could adjust my cosplay outfit(my bangs were poking me visciously in the eyes) whil Christy and Leanna went to a Full Metal Alchemist panel. We all headed over to the Dealer's room to buy cool stuffs. I got a kawaii lil Gloomy Bear figure, BB got a Gloomy Plushie ^-^ and Karin got a super soft tail to go with her ears. We played with the softy tail the rest of the time. It was time for the concert to start (Gosh, I didn't mean to type so much!) so we danced outrageously as we waited for them to start. The music was really good, but I was really waiting to see Lemon Demon (with Neil Cicereiga, creator of the Potter Puppet Pals)! So the other bands seemed to play forever! (they were good though!) Finally, Lemon Demon came on. It was one of those surreal things where you can hardly believe you were there; they sounded fantastic in actual life too. They were all really funny too
Christy got to go ON STAGE, and had to make a descision in a song, whether or not to Punch Oprah in the face or Bowchickawah-woww in stage. Of course she chose bowchickawah-wow, and fell in love with Oprah. Yeah. It was great. We got in line for autographs and photos with the band. While wating, we were completely psychotic from sugar, and took some great snapshots (If you know what I mean... ladies). As Lemon Demon signed, they wrote notes to one another, and thought my real name was Mello since it was on my nametag. Nametags can be decieving, you know. We took a picture, all of us with Neil.
ON the way home, Leanna and S fell asleep while BB, Karin, and I talked about Tim Curry's socks with ketchup... if you know what I mean. Wow, We totally lost it.
S and myself proceeded to stay at her house. IN her room was a big, scary spider. It was on the ceiling. THough I am nearly six feet tall, I was too afraid to kill it. Pillows couldn't knock it down, nor could batons or cats. So her mom came to the rescue.
Best. Day. Ever.
Halloween: At Q's house (Yoru-no-yuki), we all dressed up ( I got to be L since it's his Birthday. I added a bear hat, bow tie, and fluffy cat tail.) We ran around, getting candy and being really nice, apparently. We did the time warp for some people, and Sang christmas carols. We also told a few scary people to go scare Q, who was dressed as the Phantom of the Opera. She screamed bloody murder. Sorry Q (not really). We traded candy, and spent the night drawing pics of Light in a man bra in someone's Death Note (boy will they be suprised to see those pictures!)We watched Horton hears a who, and crashed. well, Q crashed a little earlier. She likes her sleep Right?
So all in all, this weekend was so amazing (except the part where S lost her digital camera. But she found it again). Can't wait for Youmacon next year; I hope all of us can go together. I think I'm going to miss it. a lot.
